Sofia Vergara shares the latest on her life and dreams

Sofia Vergara is looking for a man. At least that’s what we’re supposed to believe, if we’re to accept the premise of her old film, Chasing Papi. In it she played one of three women competing for the love of one very lucky man. How believable is this plot? Not very, when you take a look at Sofia. I mean, could any man be able to even think of another woman if he were being pursued by Sofia Vergara?

Some people have called Sofia Vergara the Pamela Anderson of Latin America. I beg to differ. She is far more sensuous, alluring, and captivating than Pamela ever was or will be. Us Latinos know what a good thing we have in Sofia Vergara, which is why I’m a little concerned. She’s one of our best kept secrets. But the word is getting out. Apart from starring in Chasing Papi, she’s been doing American TV Shows doing that whole “crossover” thing. It looks like us Latinos will actually be forced to share her with the rest of the world. So enjoy the following interview and photos of Sofia, but promise me one thing: don’t breathe a word about this to another heterosexual man. Let’s keep her our little secret.

Have you ever had to chase a guy?
No. Not yet.
What would you do to a girl who stole your man?
I imagine I would kill her. [laughs] No, I don’t know. I think we have to blame the men not the women.
You’ve relocated to L.A. Does that mean you’re pursuing an acting career more aggressively?
Well yeah, I’m trying to focus on a career in film and most castings take place in Los Angeles so I’m here.

How do you like L.A.?
I love it. I love it and the climate is very beautiful. It’s perfect for what I want to do now. It’s a city that is very cosmopolitan. There are many places to visit, to be outdoors. I think it’s the perfect place to live.

Where do you get recognized more, L.A. or Miami?
Here, because the majority of the people here are Mexican and they are the ones that watch Univision…Well, actually it’s pretty close. Maybe in both places. I’ve been on Univision for eight or nine years now, so if they’re Latinos they recognize me.

You’re Colombian. So who’s more popular in Colombia, you or Shakira?
Shakira, of course! Shakira es lo maximo.

But maybe with the Colombian men you’re more popular?
No, it’s not about popularity because we do different things. We have both been working for many years, but you can’t compare what I do with what Shakira does.

Have you ever thought of starring in telenovelas?
I was in a telenovela in Mexico. I have had many proposals, but that isn’t what I’m looking to do now.

A lot of Latina celebrities have pursued singing careers. Have you thought about singing?
No, not yet. I’ve had many proposals from important record labels, but up to now, no. I think that one shouldn’t try to do everything at once. I’m trying to be an actress and I think I should dedicate myself to that.

Besides yourself who do you think is the most beautiful woman in the world?
I would say Princess Charlotte of Monaco.

How about the most beautiful man?
That’s a tough one. Let’s see…Colin Farrell.

You’re always being chased by paparazzi such as “El Gordo,” and there’s always some gossip surrounding you. Do you think this helps your career?
The truth is that it’s horrible. It’s job related, but it does bother me because they interfere with my life. Even though I’m a celebrity, I’m also human and I want to live a normal life.

What words of advice do you have for Latino men?
Above all, prepare yourself. Be ready for everything. Be prepared for the things that life may bring you.
