The 80′s called…it wants its hairdo back
BY Tenere Williams
Last week, the Los Angeles Lakers captured their 16th World Championship by defeating their hated rivals, the Boston Celtics. It was an epic series, going the distance and requiring the full seven games to decide the champion. The game was reminiscent of the 1980′s rivalries between Magic Johnson’s Lakers and Larry Bird’s Celtics.
However, despite the fact that styles and hairdos have changed (and come back) since the 80′s, the Laker fan being interviewed after the Lakers game seven win is still livin’ the glory days of the 80′s by rockin the long drippy Jheri curl and finger waves (which by the way has not come back in style) that he probably had when the Lakers defeated the Celtics in 1985.
As funny as the hairdo is, what’s funnier is the man’s face in the background looking at our Barry White wannabe. He looks like he’s more concerned with the bad hair than what the fan is saying. As if to say, “C’mon man, are you serious?”
But in the end, regardless of what you and I may think, HE thinks it’s tight and to that I say…keep on keepin’ on, sir!
