The Nurse Is In
PHOTOGRAPHY Montana U.S.A.

Possessing rare and astounding beauty may not get you everything
…but sometimes it can get you a skating deal, a job where you jump
up and down on a trampoline, and a chance to squeeze Vin Diesel’s muscles.
At least that’s what happened to this issue’s cover girl, Rachel Sterling.

Let’s take it from the top…no pun intended. Where did you grow up?
I grew up mostly in San Diego but went back and forth from Corpus Christi, Texas to San Diego, California.

So would you say you had a normal upbringing?
My mom is really young and pretty so it was weird because people would always tell me, “Your mom is so hot!” But she was really strict. I had a very innocent childhood. When I was a little kid I believed in everything. I believed in Santa Claus and was convinced he existed until the seventh grade. I was devastated when I found out he wasn’t real. I wasn’t really allowed to do much, so when I turned 18 I went a little crazy. But my mom’s not one to be crossed. I didn’t even go into a bar until I was 21. I think a lot of it was because my mom’s goal for me was to make sure I turn18 without getting pregnant.

So your mom’s as hot as you?
My moms a hottie! She’s a MILF. She’s from Texas and like they say, Texas women are pretty.

Given your great genes, did she ever think you’d grow up to be a model or actress?
She always said that I would be a model or an actress. So I think she called it. She’s pretty good.

Did you blossom at an early age?
I was a late bloomer.

You appeared in A Man Apart, starring Vin Diesel. Did you get to squeeze Vin’s muscles?
What do you think?

You were also in Destroying America, the skating cult classic film. Is it true that you have become a skateboarding spokesmodel and have a Rachel Sterling skateboard model? Does that mean you know how to skateboard?
Yes, it’s true that I have become a spokesmodel for Birdhouse & Hookups as Nurse Rachel but no, I can’t skateboard. My job as Nurse Rachel is to kiss boo boos.

Then you must get a bunch of skaters purposefully crashing in front of you…
It’s so hard to be around skateboarders because when I see them try all their crazy things I always say, “Don’t do that!” But I encourage anything that’s not on a couch, and my job is to get young boys to like skateboarding. So if they think I’m a hot chick and they like me and that gets them into skateboarding, then great.

So how is your skateboard doing?
It got a pretty good response. It sold out. You can’t buy it at stores anymore. It’s a collector’s item. You can only buy it on Ebay now.

I understand you’re a big UFC fan. Who’s your favorite fighter?
Tito the Huntington Beach Bad Boy, because he feels like a hometown hero since he’s so close to L.A.

You’re a Latina with some Apache and Korean blood. How did such an incredible mix come to be?
Lots of liquor.

You have an incredibly exotic look. Looking at you one can see the different ethnic influences all at once. Was there ever a time that you wished that you looked more “American”?
I’m happy with myself, and I’m happy being me.

Is it true that beautiful women get insecure about their looks?
Of course. Everyone is their own worst critic.

Which part of your physical appearance do you feel most insecure about?
My feet. I don’t think they’re pretty.

What’s your favorite part of your body?
My lips. He he he!

Do you think men see you as approachable?
Yes, because if they don’t come to me I have a problem approaching them.

How do you fight off all the hordes of men that must come after you on a daily basis?
With my SheRa warrior princess powers

What’s the best and worst thing a guy has ever done to you?
The worst is someone I was dating forgot my birthday. The best is the person I was dating made me feel beautiful no matter what physical or emotional state I was in.

Do you believe in “forgive and forget?”
Yes, I always forgive. It’s the forget part that always kicks me in the ass—even when I try.

You were a Juggy on The Man Show, did you learn anything about men by being on that show?
As a Juggy on The Man Show I learned a thing or two about men. Mostly that their bark is much worse than their bite. Guys just want a girl that’s cool. I learned to be cool.
